Ange has a beautiful bright but deep colour with aromas of ripe summer fruits, (strawberries, blackcurrants and fresh figs) over which rise elegant hints of white peach and subtle floral top notes (almond flower , hawthorn, rose, gorse and thyme) combined with sage and cocoa. In the mouth this wine has a velvety base structure with opulent but silky soft tannins. The finish is fresh, floral and with subtle hints of fresh blond tobacco leaves. Ange 2004 is rich in aroma but light and delicate on the palate. The result of both expertise and the artisanal approach of Borde Rouge, Ange has been lauded and recognised by wine professionals since its first millésime. It received the Brussels Worldwide Competition "Grande Medaille d'Or", which classifies it amongst the 18 "grands vins" of the world. The meltingly soft yet concentrated tannins, leave behind a lasting impression. This is a wine which will mature nicely over the next 8-10 years revealing different aspects of its character over time. Serving Suggestions Ange is the ideal accompaniment to refined dining experiences and is particularly well suited to game dishes or with rich chocolate desserts

Specially selected from old vines, the de-stemmed grapes are subjected to a long maceration process. The must is then transferred and left to ferment partly in barrels and partly in steel vats. The wine is then "pumped over" twice daily by hand Wine Ageing The wine is matured in 225 litre French oak barrels. 20% new barrels, 80% year old barrels
