The Barlettaia is a chianti with a long life, it has a well balanced palate, and is pleasingly soft with hints of wild berries. Color – ruby red. Aroma - notes of bright red fruits and hints of vanilla. Taste – balanced and pleasantly smooth with an aftertaste of fresh red fruits.
Sangiovese 95%, Canaiolo and Colorino 5%.
A very refined wine made from predominantly Sangiovese grapes, though with the addition of some Canaiolo and Colorino, which are all typical grapes of the Val d’Orcia. It takes its name from the Via Barlettaia, the ancient road from Monte Amiata to Montepulciano, and which passes by the Borgo di Monticchiello and by Terre di Nano.
Vinification – in stainless steel vats with a controlled temperature of 28°-30° during fermentation. Ageing - in barriques of French oak and 10 hl Slavonian oak barrels for twelve months, then in bottles for three months. Quantity produced – max. 20.000 bottles (0.750 lt).
