A refreshing, boisterously fruity, off-dry white wine with a prominent guava flavour, typical of this cultivar. Maturation potential 1 to 2 years. Enjoy chilled with pork, duck, poultry, light stews or with snacks. South African awards: Platter's SA Wines 2009: *1/2.
Well drained alluvial sandy soil; Karoo.
11 - 16 year old vines on 4-wire Perold trellising system . Drip irrigation controlled by a computer system through meters and tensiometers.
Hand harvested. Night harvested at optimum ripeness. 18 tons per hectare.
Style: A fruit-driven, off-dry white wine. Vinification: Cold fermentation with residual sugar. Minimal intervention in the natural process of vinification, allowing both the cultivar and the soil of its origin to express their individual characteristics. R/S 13 g/l.
