The vineyard of CHATEAU DAVRIL is located in North-western edge of Saint-Sulpice of Apple trees. Altitude: 93 m. His ground consists of 1.50 m of clay with much limestone which rests on sands. The regularization of the water supply, secrecy of the great vintages, is here worthy of a demonstration of school. Too much rain, Water streams easily on clay and is evacuated on the slopes. Dryness, This same clay plays the part of sponge of reserve. The regularization is done here at the same time by the relief and natural physicochemical texture. Topography gave birth to a wine soil from exception. The microclimatic situation is remarkable too it. The cold air slips towards bottoms melt and the frosts of 1956 practically did not have effects on the vineyard (made extremely rare in the area).
The Varieties of CHATEAU DAVRIL, in red are composed of 40% Sauvignon Cabernet, 20% Franc Cabernet and 40% Merlot Noir. One of the characteristics of this vineyard is the constant effort of selection to reach best affinity ground-type of vine.
As for the wine makings, they are of the type of long maceration with control of the constant temperatures. The one 12 months average duration breeding gives wines which have a deep and purple dress, an aromatic power which combines truffle, grilled almond, the violet and the blackcurrant, a round mouth, charnue, very flexible and velvety, very silky tactile feelings.
