With a cherry red color this wine has mature fruits aromas such us plum or dried fig together with wood aromas. Due to its great balance between sugar and acidity we got a lush and delicious wine with a long and happy fade. -Golden Medal in the International Conquest Hotelimpia (London, 23-24 Febrero, 2004) -Golden Medal given by “Cofradía del Vino Reino Monastrell” (February, 2007) -Bronze Medal in the XI Awards for Quality Wines from D.O. 100% Monastell

Predominance of brown limestone soil and sandy-texture, except where the crust limestone is very superficial, high content of calcium carbonate. All these aspects contribute to the low production figures per vine (average of 1,5 kg), of our vineyards, which are old and mostly unirrigated.

The climate is a mixture between continental winter and Mediterranean summer, which implies a big thermal difference, from -10ºc to over 35ºc. It is therefore, an area with very cold winters and very hot summers.

This wine is produced only from over matured Monastrell grapes. This is achievable thanks to the most accurate harvests that are made up to three times, in order to obtain the maximum production of sugar. The vines are more than fifty years old and their production is very small not higher than 1Kg per strain per year. The soil is ideal for this cultivation due to its great permeability

The grapes are macerated during approximately fifteen days at low temperatures, and then the fermentation process is stopped, by adding alcohol. The musts are obtained thanks to a low-pressure pressing, and later are located in barrels to tame its tannins.
