This wine exhibits plenty of toasty new oak, black cherry, and cassis characteristics along with a touch of herbaceousness in the background. It is medium-bodied, with excellent ripeness, moderately high tannin, lofty alcohol, and good texture as well as richness. It should be consumed during its first 10-12 years of life. Drink : 2007-2019. Rating : 89. Robert M. Parker– The Wine Advocate n°171 – USA, Juin 2007. The Wine Château la Bienfaisance, main vintage of the vineyards, gets a star. It would be worth waiting two more years for its spicy tannins to settle down. (A star: very successfull Wine) Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2008, September 2007.
85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc
The Wines are crafted mainly from the vines planted on the clayey soils of the Saint-Emilion hillside.
The wines are barrel-aged for 12 to 16 months, with 30% of new barrels each year.
