On the nose, some both complex and delicate aromas exlope... Black fruit, exotic spices, roasted coffee and cocoa. In the mouth, the combination of liquorice and violet flowers is sublime. Silky and ample tannins dominate, promising a great future.
70% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, 5% Muscardin.
The combination of the three types of soils found on the Châteauneuf du Pape terroir create a perfect balance: the famous Châteaueuf pebbly soils, some very chalky soils from the Urgonian and some non-stony soils from the Miocène.
A long and mild spring season and a warm and dry summer allow the grapes to ripen perfectly. The local wind, the mistral, dries the grapes after the rain, keeping the grapes free from most diseases.
Mid-September
100% hand harvest.
The grapes are carefully sorted and destemmed. They are cooled down and then the different grape varieties are blended together before alcoholic fermentation starts. This old technique to make Châteauneuf du Pape wines gives the wines a very good harmony, allowing the aromas to blend perfectly well. The cap is punched down. The wine then ages 9 to 14 months in vats and in oak barrels that are 2 to 6 years old.
