The term "Hochgewächs" was coined 25 years ago to distinguish Riesling wines of superior quality. At that time we made the mistake of not limiting the term to steep slate vineyards and dry wines. Therefore you can buy sweet "Hochgewächs" wines as well as semi-dry and dry ones which seems to be confusing to the customers.
