Bodegas Verdúguez, small and middle-sized family business (4th generation) is
mainly devoting to the production, ageing and bottling of upper quality mono-variety
wines and also organic wines which are being commercialized mainly in foreign
markets. Furthermore, this wine cellar is inscribed in the Council Regulation of D.O.
La Mancha that proves the quality of its wines.
The facilities are located in the epicentre of the famous most important vineyard of
Europe: La Mancha, particularly in the small town of Villanueva de Alcardete in the
eastern part of the province of Toledo, nearby to Cuenca’s border.
The actual wine cellar was set up the same year it was built in 1950, but under
another name. Bodegas Verdúguez markets premium wines (upper quality wines,
mono-variety wines, organic wines, sparkling wines till table wines), specializing the
current generation in the production, classification and sales of bottled mono-variety
D.O. La Mancha wines, starting its expansion abroad in 1999.
It has been operating as Bodegas Verdúguez since 1994, when its present Chairman,
Miguel Ángel Verdúgez Morata thanks to a clear approach on quality, started
changing from the production of red and white wine and also bulk wine to the
production of pure mono-variety wine with the necessary modern installations,
preparation, classification and correction to meet the requirements of the market.
On the other hand, he started to restructure its vineyard, changing traditional
plantations to different new typically Spanish grape varieties together with foreign
varieties like young varietal red wine (Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and
Syrah), young varietal white wine (Macabeo, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay); on
the other hand, he devoted himself to the production of red and white organic wine,
originated from Tempranillo and Airén varieties.
