About Us

The Casetta winery is located in the north-west of Italy, in the Piedmont region, a land with the finest wine-making history where excellent red and white wines are always been produced. The Casetta family have been living here since 1725. Vine -growing and wine-making are age-old family traditions. In 1950s, the brothers Ernesto and Giuseppe Casetta, decided to increase the vine-growing, planting new vineyards. In 1960s Ernesto Casetta started to export the CASETTA brands, at the beginning only in Europe and later in the U.S.A., Japan, Canada, Middle Est and South Asia. The results that can be seen today are the work of one man, Ernesto Casetta, whose life has been and continues to be guiding spirit behind this company, of which he is the soul and driving force. Now he is flanked in the cellars and vineyards by his nephews, Bruno and Pierangelo. Our Estate comprises forty hectares of vineyards located in the Langa and Roero regions, many in prime south-facing areas. This, together with organic cultivation methods and meticulous care in the choice of bunches during harvest, results in the fruit of excellent quality from which our crus are selected. Our philosophy for wine-making: The wine nobility begins in the vineyard, where we pay a lot of attention to plant after plant. During July and August we reduce the quantity of grape bunches and we eliminate excess leaves order to allow the grapes the best possible circulation of air and illumination. We start the grape harvest when the grapes have the right sugar content and acidity, after several careful tests. Grape harvest is made by hand.
