The Santa Maria s.n.c. Company, which has always been in the Montalcino territory, is also known as Le Sante Marie. This endeavour began as a dream of living life in a symbiosis connection with the rhythm and pace of nature and the will to produce and offer products of this territory along with much hard work that made the realization of this dream possible.
In 1998, an antique vineyard was discovered by chance within the confines of the company farm in what is called Brunello. This find allowed for new vines, but only after the terrain had been prepared, using age-old techniques such as terracing and old stone dividing walls.
In 1999, the Company purchased other pieces of nearby land in Sant'Antimo and Castiglione d’Orcia, in particular olive groves for the production of extra virgin olive oil. After much manual worlk, the olive groves have slowly returned to their original state of vigor with a production of olives of optimal quality. This is the result of the company's believe and choice in maintaining the antique and traditional methods of cultivation.
In 2000, the production of the Brunello wine began which has been on the market since 01-01-2005.
The company farm has a land area of 3 hectares of vineyards and 2.5 hectares of olive groves. The method of production is rigorously biological.
