THE UNION OF WINE-MAKING CO-OPERATIVES OF SAMOS was established in 1934 with the L 6085 and since then has administered exclusively and succesfully this unique product, by protecting the viniculturists’ income of Samos and investing in modern equipment and know-how.
In a short time, the UNION became the leading lever of the economic development of Samos and the most important agent for the promotion of Pythagoras’ island worldwide. At the same time, the show-cases of the Organization were filled with gold prizes of international distinction (France, USA, Belgium, Yugoslavia, Hungary etc.)
The Samos “muscat” wine of appellation of controlled origin, is produced by the grapes of the exquisite selection of “small - sized moschato grapes of Samos" grown on the slopes of Mount Ampelos (1144) which is covered with traditional terraced vineyards up to the height of 900m and with controlled efficiency of the decares of land.
