Bacchus 2008, a wine competition officially recognised by the Spanish Ministry
of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, will be held in Madrid from March 14 to 18,
2008 under the sponsorship and control of the International Organisation of Wine
and Vine (OIV), the International Union of Oenologists (UIOE) and the World
Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits Competitions
(VINOFED).
Bacchus is open to all types of wines from around the world.
The last edition of the competition, which was held in 2006, received 1,433
entries from 17 different countries in addition to Spain: Argentina, Australia,
Brazil, Canada, Chile, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Lebanon,
New Zealand, Mexico, Portugal, Switzerland and Uruguay.
