Beaujolais continues to cross new borders and find new homes. Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Germany,
Colombia and Canada are just a few of the 150 countries where it is enjoyed. Large-scale distribution within France accounts for a third of all sales, with
two million bottles opened in the greater Paris region alone! Half of the production is exported to Asia, Japan comprising the leading export market for
Beaujolais Nouveau, which continues to present a trendy image.
The marketing budget for the 2008 campaign will run 580,000 Euros (partly financed by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Rhône General Council).
