It has a very dark cherry colour. In the nose it is very rich, with excellent expression of black berries, jam, vanilla and some mineral notes. In the mouth it is very full-bodied, powerful, and with some sweet tannins, which can foresee a long life for this wine.
100% Tempranillo, from the estate no. 54q, called “El Perdio” in the property Finca Casa de Don Pedro.
The harvest was carried out on the 25th September 2001, and it was done by hand in small cases of 17 kg. The total quantity collected was 8.900 kg.
Long maceration in order to extract colour and aromas. Then, the fermentation was controlled at a temperature of 29ºC. The wine has been aged in both American and French oak barrels of 225 liters during 382 days.
