A beautiful reference that gathers the typicity of an aromatic and perfumed varietal and a racy frame. It leads to an olfactory and gustatory refinement with an exceptional length. The colour is deep, still young with a remarkable brilliance. The bouquet presents an aromatic explosion with aromas of flowers: roses, acacia, jasmine; of ripe and candied fruits: passion fruit, mango, and litchi; of spices: cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, and others: honey, currants; a fine hint of over-ripeness. On the palate, it is velvety, suave, and mellow.
100% Gewurztraminer
Our Gewurztraminer Vendanges Tardives is produced from the historic plots of our estate on the Cru of Sckenkenberg. Clay-limestone soil on Upper Muschelkalk, gently sloping. Located on the hills at the top of Obernai with exposure south south-east. It produces rich, full and distinctive wines. 45 years old vines.

The grapes have been harvested by hand in small baskets.
The grapes are harvested when they have reached an over maturation stage. Presses are filled by gravity, without any pumping or other mechanical intervention. The juice is extracted with infinite care in our pneumatic press. The slow, gentle pressing avoids crushing the stalks and pips. After a few hours decanting, must is fermented in wooden tuns or stainless tanks with regulated temperature to express the characteristic flavours of the grape variety. The wine is matured on its lees in wooden tuns for 9 to 12 months. The wine is lightly filtered just before bottling. The wine is aged 1 to 2 years before release.
Must fermentation starts thanks to natural yeasts and lasts from 6 to 12 weeks.
