A nice cold winter at Jarvis Estate set the 2005 growing season up perfectly. The windy, dry spring weather that followed did make the vine and canopy management a challenge but helped to keep the berry size small and the flavours intense. The summer ripening period arrived late and the season was relatively cool but dry and overall this was an excellent year for Verdelho. The hand- picked grapes were fermented in stainless steel and bottled early to retain the fresh fruit characters. The bottles have been sealed using stelvin screw top closures to ensure this freshness remains. Flavours reminiscent apricot and melon follow the honey and passionfruit nose. A rich palate and clean crisp finish make this Verdelho a delightful wine suitable for any occasion. Served chilled and enjoy REVIEWS Ray Jordan’s Guide to Wine 2005/2006 This has the unmistakable tropical fruit intensity of Verdelho from Margaret River. Also has a subtle herbal spiciness in there that adds to the picture. The palate is nicely weighted, showing excellent fruit intensity with a fine almost delicate acid. An attractive wine. 87 points
