Perhaps the most famous wine of Szekszárd. Vesztergombi Bikavér is a cuvée of Blaufrankisch, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Kadarka. Not only symbolic, but the presence of Kadarka is essential from the point of view of the wine as well, because Kadarka makes Bikavér a Bikavér. The wine is aged in big (1000-5000l) oak barrels for at least 12 months. Vesztergombi Bikavér is produced only in exceptional vintages. It is typically a varicoloured, vari-flavored, aged red wine of Szekszárd.
