Rated by João Afonso with 90 Points in 2006 Portuguese Wine Guide. “Almost black with a mysterious opaqueness with a fine ring of purplish hues. The nose is complex and challenging. Fairly closed, leaves an intuition of a variety of descriptors, enabling the discovery of aromas of cherry, some pear, vanilla, cedar and resin, with a hint of condensed milk. In the mouth it is exuberant. Tannins are vigorous and the alcohol is present, in a well structured and bodied red. Good intensity of fruit and, despite some astringency, it is a well rounded and deep wine. Very long finish, with some dryness and notes of black tea.17,5/20 Points” in Blue Wine magazine, July 2006.
